Citadines Melbourne on Bourke, situated right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, makes it an ideal location for those visiting Melbourne either for business or pleasure

Nestled amidst Melbourne’s famous laneways is the newest and largest Citadines in the world, Citadines Melbourne on Bourke.

Opened only in July this year, this 25-storey jumbo Apart’hotel houses 380 fully-equipped apartments comprising a combination of studio, one and two-bedroom residences.

Distinctly Melbourne

Enviably the only new property up the Paris end of the Melbourne CBD, guests can soak in the elegant European ambience, evidenced in the Victorian architecture, whilst shopping and strolling down the leafy boulevards.

Melbourne’s delightful laneways are a veritable treasure trove of charming restaurants, tiny cafes, one-off boutiques, unique galleries and hidden bars, enticing one into a lazy afternoon of exploration and relaxation.

“The design of Citadines Melbourne on Bourke celebrates the Melbourne laneway phenomenon. Featuring a double entry, each measuring no wider than three metres, they seemingly carry footpath from both Little Collins Street and Bourke Street, inviting guests into the cosy and relaxed interior of the property,” shares Allison Englebretsen, General Manager of Citadines Melbourne on Bourke.

Along with Melbourne’s distinctive laneway culture, there lies a deeply-established love for the fine arts. It is no surprise then that stunning artworks by famous Australian artists, the likes of Freddie Timms and Abie Loy Kemarre, adorn the walls of the lobby and the apartments.

Chic city living makes its mark with guests

The play of warm, neutral colours and materials against vibrant soft furnishings bring a sense of cool, urban chic to the apartments. The architect’s penchant for natural lighting means every unit boasts floor to ceiling windows, so you can have sweeping views of Melbourne’s city skyline and beyond.

Every apartment is cleverly designed to maximise space, from the unique kitchen design to the moveable features in the living room. Broadband Internet access along with a complete home entertainment system of cable TV, DVD, CD and iPod player are at your disposal. There are also a business corner with iMac, a well-fitted out gym, an indoor heated lap pool and sauna.

Just three months into its opening, Citadines Melbourne on Bourke has already received its fair share of compliments from recent guests who stayed at the Apart’hotel.

“Excellent location, everything I wanted was in walking distance or a short tram ride away, the tram is right outside! I stayed for work but can’t wait to come back and stay with my husband and go to one of the amazing restaurants surrounding the property and have a night at the theatre. The rooms are well-equipped with everything you need. The bed is huge and all the facilities are new as the hotel opened in July. The staff was friendly and helpful, they made it so easy for me to get to all my meetings with their knowledge of Melbourne,” says Alicia Power.

Kassie Griffiths agrees, “Refreshing and vibrant! I’ve stayed at this property three times now and it really does feel like a home away from home, just with much better facilities. The gym , pool and sauna are perfect for my active lifestyle. The hotel is situated in a prime location, central to all that the Melbourne CBD has to offer. Great choice of restaurants all located in short strolling distance, or for those cold winter nights, I have the option to cook up a storm as each room offers extensive cooking facilities and utensils. The friendly staff are eager to greet me and it’s a nice personal touch that they remember my name.“
