Sweet Life Amidst Mountain and Lakes
New residential development in Guangzhou, Dolce Vita, beckons with natural beauty and fine living
Issue: Jul 2011
Dolce Vita sits within Jinshazhou in northwest Guangzhou and is surrounded by Nature
Guangzhou is the third largest city in China, and the capital and largest city of Guangdong Province, the richest province in the country. Located in southern China on the Pearl River, Guangzhou is a vital national transportation hub, important trading port and manufacturing centre of the Pearl River Delta. It boasts a history that dates back nearly 3,000 years and enjoys a sub-tropical climate that ensures greenery and blooms all year round. It is also a cultural centre with a reputation for arts and crafts, in particular, embroidery, ceramics and ivory carvings.
Into this historic, cultural gem, CapitaLand China has introduced a treasure of a residential development, named Dolce Vita, meaning sweet life in Italian.
Resting tranquilly in the midst of natural beauty, Dolce Vita’s location near the upcoming city centre also means proximity to all the conveniences of modern living
Heart of City, Soul of Nature
Dolce Vita is a sprawling, 300,000-square metre residential development in Jinshazhou in northwest Guangzhou. The whole project will offer 2,800 units. To cater to different needs, the units come in varying styles: classic two to five-room apartments, spacious and luxurious penthouses and double-storey terrace houses.
Dolce Vita is set within Nature’s own garden - flushed against Xun Feng Mountain, with lakes at its doorstep – promising a tranquil respite. But its proximity to the up-and-coming 400,000-square metre Guangzhou West District Commercial Centre means that business and retail options abound for residents as well. Families will appreciate the fact that Dolce Vita is near kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and high schools, guaranteeing easy access to educational institutes at every level. A nearby subway terminal station ensures ease of transportation.
Dolce Vita include double-storey terraces and low-rise homes well-integrated with the natural surroundings
The development is also structured to meet Guangzhou’s newest public service amenities standards which dictate that developments comprise one city centre, two green belts, three residential zones and 12 neighbourhood centres. Dolce Vita truly combines the best of what Nature has to offer with man’s most deliberate and well-made plans.
Rising 25 storeys high, each unit in the tall towers has an unblocked view of the surrounding mountain, hills and lakes
International Design for Local Consumption
What adds to the attractiveness of Dolce Vita is its international lineage. CapitaLand China partnered with the Lai Fung Group from Hong Kong and hired renowned global architectural firm AJ + C and world’s leading landscape design firm EDAW to develop this property. The result is a hive of apartments that, despite the numbers, are laid out to maximise space, allow for optimal traffic flow and provide a comfortable living environment.
The designers drew inspiration from the surrounding mountains and have integrated various mountain motifs and building elements to bring a unique blend of the natural and modern. The existing natural terrain was used to create distinctive scenic features to bring harmony between the natural surrounding and the man-made landscape. Even the elevation of the terrain was incorporated into the design so that the units are afforded unblocked views of the Xun Feng Mountain and waters. In addition, the towers are spaced about 100 metres apart to allow for air-flow and space between apartments for an uncluttered, open feel.
Nature in the Interior
Not only is Dolce Vita surrounded by Nature, the units also bring Nature within. The interiors are done up in pure white wood and decorated in accordance with LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) concept. LOHAS is a concept that embraces health and fitness, the environment, personal development and sustainable living in its furnishing and lifestyle ideas. A thoroughly thought-through ventilation plan allows in natural light and cooling breezes. The kitchen and bathrooms are fitted with internationally acclaimed brands like Electrolux and Kohler.
Outside, a private mountain-top garden lets residents exercise in scenic comfort while pathways lining the lakes allow them to take leisurely strolls amidst stunning natural beauty. Residents can also take dips in the two swimming pools available.
Classic décor in hues of cream and white adds a light and airy feel to the units
Home of the Future
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that Dolce Vita has already attracted nearly 1,000 prospective buyers since its launch in late May. Of the 230 units released, almost 80% have been sold, generating revenue of approximately RMB300 million. In total, 750 units in six high-rise blocks are expected to be released this year.
Buyers interested in terrace homes and semi-detached homes that provide the feel of a gated community with proximity to the city, home-owners in search of quality living at competitive prices and those who appreciate the quality a premium brand brings will certainly find Dolce Vita’s sweet offerings absolutely irresistible.
