Send Hope This Lunar New Year

Gallop into the Year of the Horse and send hope and good cheer to children in need as you exchange festive greetings via e-cards

Issue: Feb 2014

Spread some Chinese New Year cheer and send an electronic Lunar New Year greeting to friends, family and associates
Spread some Chinese New Year cheer and send an electronic Lunar New Year greeting to friends, family and associates

It’s the Chinese New Year season and CapitaLand’s S.E.N.D. (Send E-card & Donate) for Hope programme is back in full swing. As you do your spring cleaning, buy your festive goods and celebrate with friends and family, don’t forget to send a CapitaLand electronic greeting card as well. It is a green and fitting way to usher in the Year of the Wood Horse (an element related to Nature and greenery) and do a good deed.

For every e-card sent from now till 14 February (the last day of the Chinese New Year), CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), will donate S$2* to the Singapore Red Cross Society. The money will go to their “Meals with Love” programme aimed at helping disadvantaged families in Singapore eat right. Nutritious food will be provided to some 200 of these families with children every month.

This year, for the first time, CHF has also extended the e-card programme beyond Singapore. The cards can now be sent through Sina Weibo, China’s most popular micro blogging service. Simply follow CHF@weimingtian or @为明天, and repost the S.E.N.D For Hope activity post to at least two other friends. For every repost, CHF will donate RMB2* to the CapitaKids Programme (China Education Bursary Scheme). The initiative supports underprivileged students at CapitaLand Hope Schools in China. You will also receive a CHF 2014 calendar of events in China so you can plan your volunteering journey with CHF in the new year.

The Horse is said to be second only to the Dragon as a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. So, do your part to bring good fortune to someone in need it this year. Gong Xi Fa Cai (wishing you happiness and prosperity)!

* CapitaLand Hope Foundation will donate S$2 for every unique recipient who receives a card from www.capitaland.com/cards, up to a cap of S$15,000 in support of this charity drive.  A unique recipient is identified by a unique email address that a sender sends the electronic card to. For every repost of the S.E.N.D For Hope activity through @weimingitian via Sina Weibo, CapitaLand Hope Foundation will donate RMB2, up to a cap of RMB48,000 in support of this charity drive.  Both senders and recipients of the e-card/weibo posts will not need to pay for anything.
